Cotton underwire bras, and one in mesh
Our underwire bras are made with 90% organic cotton and elastane, apart from one style in 88% recycled nylon mesh. Between them they cover demi, full coverage, balconette and push-up cups.
What is the point of underwire in bras?
The wire sits in the seam under each cup and holds the cup's shape independently of the fabric. Without one, the shape comes from the band and the fabric's own tension, which is why a bralette follows the body and wired bras hold a line. That is the whole trade: structure from the wire, or softness from going without.
Unlined and wired
The Core Unlined Demi Bra is the cotton demi: a half cup, adjustable straps you can wear straight or crossed, and a hook-and-eye closure, with no padding. The Core Icon Balconette Bra is the other unpadded one, cut wide and low with a sweetheart neckline. These two are what people mean by a cotton unlined underwire bra — wire for shape, no molded cup. They are also the plainest of our cotton underwire bras.
Padded and wired
The Core Full Coverage Bra has wired cups with a thin lining and multiway straps, cut for a smooth line under a T-shirt. The Core Push-Up Bra is the padded one, with adjustable straps. Both are made with 90% organic cotton in the body.
The mesh one
The Mesh Unlined Demi Bra is the exception to the cotton: 88% recycled nylon with elastane, in a soft transparent mesh rather than a jersey. Same demi shape, same wire.
Without a wire
If you would rather not have one, our collection of wireless bras covers the same necklines, and our unlined bras include wired and wireless cuts together. Everything sits on the women’s bra collection.
Sizing, in letters and in band and cup
Nearly every style comes in XXS to XXXL, and some use band and cup or numeric sizes instead. Measure rather than carry a size across from our bralettes — a wired cup fits differently. Machine wash cold and dry flat.
